I seem to spend most of my life being distracted. It's just taken me several minutes to create this new keyword, because another member of the family caused a distraction in my office with a question about the telephone directory. Now I'm left alone, the more general philosophical question arises: what are we distracted from – and are these moments really a hiatus or simply some unknown continuity?
