During the winter break, I have enjoyed the privileg to read a few pages of Chesterton, among others.
It was a rather challenging experience. Chesterton loves the paradox, in fact, the paradoxical description appears to be his favorit literally tool. His depiction is not quite fair against the pegan believes, a trait for wich the vanishing of actual paganism works in his favor. It makes so much more fun to denunciate a faith no one believes in for generations, you can't imagine it!
I must confess, nevertheless, that I got the appeal of this kind of literatur for the common reader. If I imagine to be biased in favor of the Christian faith, then the works of Chesterton appears nearly wonderful.
