Planes stay aloft because of the difference in air pressure below and above the wings. As a general rules if a fluid (air included) goes fast, the pressure goes down. So they make the air go faster on top of the plane's wings, and the pressure on top goes down. Then there is more pressure below than above, essentially pushing the plane up.
