Malevolent speaks of evil intent combined with artistry. For that reason people tend to respect malevolence and even be intrigued by it. A spectacular movie villain would not just be evil, but malevolent. Malevolence appeals to the dark side of everyone. To hear someone described as malevolent immediately makes one want to vicariously rub their hands together and smile wickedly, looking forward to the dastardly plans that our artistic villain is concocting. |
