Whatever Metallica's lawyers manage, digital pix, books, music usw will always be replicable. Any anti-copying code like SCMS for MiniDiscs gets overwritten. So isn't it time to start thinking of bands as doing something other than making money? There's too much work being done everywhere anyway (while others have no jobs) – the net has the opportunity to reduce the amount any individual has to do, leaving us all free to pursue unprofitable passions like trainspotting, making crosswords, mixing cocktails or being in a band.
