It's really nonsense to contend that British English and American English are two different languages. Lorry is perhaps the only word in the former that is not immediately recognizeable by speakers of the latter. Every other word is pretty easy to figure out.
The lorry blockade had flummoxed Mr Piccadilly, who found himself trapped just outside the tunnel at Calais. On the dash, he noticed that his petrol level was alarmingly low.
Frank would have known what to do, mused Mr Piccadilly.
